Boat How-To Electrics 101 Video Course with Nigel Calder

You want to understand your boat's electrical system? GET THIS COURSE NOW

Boat electrics is not rocket science...but it still has to be DONE RIGHT! Electrical systems on boats have become more and more complex over recent years. Even moderately equipped boats today rely completely on their electrical system. A loss of power can lead to an emergency at sea. (Or do you still have a sextant and all nautical almanacs on board?) Unfortunately, many owners have only a vague understanding of their boat's electrical system. Or, even worse: They think they know how to install a system and end up making damaging mistakes, and teach others these mistakes in blogs or on YouTube.

TheSailingChannel.TV is an official distributor of Boat How-To videos.

  • MAIDEN

"In 1989, the very idea of a competitive all female sailing crew was nearly inconceivable to the manly world of open-ocean yacht racing."
Maiden | Official Trailer HD (2019)
Directed by Alex Holmes | A New Black Films Production Featuring Tracy Edwards Running Time: 93 minutes.

    Synopsis

In 1989, the very idea of a competitive all female sailing crew was nearly inconceivable to the manly world of open-ocean yacht racing. They’d never make it to the start of the Whitbread Round the World Race, much less survive to the finish. They’d never find funding. They didn’t have the strength or skill. They’d die at sea. Did that many professional female sailors even exist? Tracy Edwards proved them wrong. 26-year-old skipper Edwards, her second-hand racing yacht Maiden, and her seasoned crew not only became the first-ever all female sailing crew challenge to the Whitbread, they proved able competitors in the famously grueling race, besting male crews in their class. By the time they returned to their starting point at Southampton, England after 32,000 miles of global racing, Maiden's all female sailing crew had shocked, inspired, and transfixed the sailing world and the British nation. Tracy Edwards was awarded the 1990 Yachtsman of the Year Award, the first woman ever to receive the accolade, and was named a Member of the Order of the British Empire. • Vimeography Error: a Vimeography gallery with an ID of "233" was not found. Spending Time with Miss T Video Series

Click above to play video teaser.

Miss T is a 29 ft sailboat, designed in 1969. "Spending time with Miss T" is the video project following the boat interior rebuild. The boat is entirely gutted at the moment, and the objective is to rebuild her interior, true to the original 1960's stylish, yet functional manner in which she was once built. The entire project is an utterly irrational affair, driven by a strongly felt passion for small, hopelessly unfashionable sailboats. About Sailflix-Vimeo VOD Rent $3.99 Buy $7.99
